Year 4T 2019 - 2020
Welcome to Year 4T!
During the Spring term we will be focusing our learning on our topic question;
'How does the river dance'
In English we will work in line with the new Primary Framework for Year 4 with a focus on children planning, drafting and editing their writing. We will be focusing our work around the book The Wind and The Willows by Kenneth Grahame.
In maths we will be using mathematical skills to solve a range of problems. We will also be securing methods to add, subtract, multiply and divide, working with decimals and fractions and improving our understanding of shape and perimeter. We will also be practicing our timestables daily.
Year 4 will sit a multiplication test in the summer term.
In Science thoughout this term pupils will be taught to:
- Generate questions and use scientific evidence that is given to answer questions.
- Set up an investigation and make predictions.
- Make observations and conclusions.
- Be able to answer questions based on their learning.
Our topic this term will be Animals including humans.
Our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday, but children should have PE kit in school every day. Please check that all PE kit is clearly labelled.
Every Friday the children will go home with spellings and English homework to be handed in the following Wednesday. There will also be online Mathematics homework for the children to complete.
Spelling will be tested on the Wednesday.
