Welcome to the start of our new academic year. The children have settled in well and are beginning to learn new routines. We are very excited to start our new year together and create lots of wonderful memories over the coming months. 

This half term we will be focusing on getting to know each other and settling into our new classroom. 

We will also be looking at signs of Autumn around us and going on Autumnal hunts around our school to get to know our outdoor environment. 

We will be learning lots of new vocabulary relating to the topic of Autumn and getting to know the children. 

In maths we will be exploring numbers up to 3.

We will spend time practising to sit and listen during circle times where we will explore the daily calendar and sing lots of nursery rhymes and songs each day. 

We will be looking at the different celebrations throughout October :

• Black History Month
• Rosh Hashanah (2^nd - 4^th)
• World Space Week (4^th - 10^th)
• Harvest Festival (6^th)
• Yom Kippur (11^th - 12^th)
• Halloween (31^st)
