MPSA
The Manor Park School Association (MPSA) is the parent/teacher association of Manor Park Primary School. As a parent, grandparent or carer of a child at our school you are automatically a member of the MPSA – welcome!
The intention is that being part of this community can really help you to feel more involved in the school and in the experiences of our children while they are pupils here. It is also a great way to make friends across the school community.
The primary purpose of the MPSA is to work alongside the school to organise activities and invest in equipment and events that will enrich the lives of our children during their time at Manor Park. The kind of events we organise include discos, film nights, easter egg hunts, comic and sports relief events, 10p/2p trails and, last but not least, our bi-annual fairs. Our goal is to have a Christmas Fair and a Summer Fair each year (pandemics permitting), which are exciting events that allow the whole community to come together and support the school. And as part of these, we are regularly overwhelmed by the generosity and support we receive from local businesses, who regularly donate amazing raffle prizes to make these events extra special.
Not only do these events help provide fun activities for our children, they also help us to raise funds, which we can use to invest in our children’s experience further. For example, money raised by the MPSA has been used to buy books and tablets for the children, contribute to the Multi-Use Games Arena (MUGA), and pay for the archway to the Spinney and the noticeboard for the Nursery. Currently, we are actively raising money for the Outdoor Play And Learning (OPAL) Programme.
If you would like to be involved, we would love to hear from you. You can contact us through our Facebook page or you can e-mail us at mpsaknutsford@gmail.com. There is no minimum amount of help required – we will always need volunteers to provide the children with refreshments at the Halloween disco or man the bottle bola at the Christmas Fair – but we also need people to attend our events and share the notifications on Facebook. There is no pressure and any contribution is most definitely appreciated.
The MPSA has a committee that is elected at the start of each school year as part of the Annual General Meeting. This committee is here to represent the members of the MPSA so please do feel free to come to any of us if you have any suggestions or questions relating to the MPSA. For the 2021/2022 school year the committee comprises Helena Renshaw (Chairperson), Rachel Tully (Vice Chairperson), Bridget Wall (Secretary), Kelly Stephenson (Deputy Secretary), Nicole Malloy (Treasurer), Daniela Kortusova (Deputy Treasurer), Cathryn Walley (Communications and Social Media Co-ordinator), Alix Shepherd (Events Co-ordinator) and Ann Hollingsbee (Committee Member).
The MPSA meets each half term – and this meeting is open to all members of the MPSA – all are welcome. Our discussions generally focus on upcoming planned events, how recent events have gone, any ideas on future activities and any funding requests. Please let us know if you would like details of our next meeting.
